VORTEX UNIVERSE INTERTWINED IN SPIRALS, FILAMENTS AND KNOTS
TURBULENCE AND MAGNETIC FIELD DOMINATED UNIVERSE WHERE GRAVITY PLAYS A MINOR ROLE

What  does the Big-Bang theory say?

The conventional theories of structure formation are based on the idea of the big-bang, which says that the gas clouds, from where the cosmic structures have formed, have their origin in the primordial explosion.  According to the model, about 300 000 years after the big-bang the molecular clouds of hydrogen formed. These larger clouds broke into smaller chunks due to gravitational instabilities, which further broke into smaller and smaller units. The structures one observes in the cosmos have risen as gravitational condensation of the gas clouds. In this view, the gravity is the sole actor in forming the universe.

The new theory takes a different view...

The new theory is built on the idea that the  universe is a vortex system, which has existed eternally, where time and space are not the same as the conventional view will lead us to believe. The vortex is made of smaller vortices. Each of these smaller vortices are made of even smaller vortices, which in turn are made of even smaller vortices and so on. All vortices seen in nature have similar build up as "whorls inside whorls inside whorls ..." which follow the same pattern in smaller and smaller scales. The vortex dynamics, observed at any scale, involve creation of filaments of different strengths and densities. These filaments constantly undergo changes due to the ever fluctuating flows rushing through the system. The birth and death of cosmic structures are caused by the merging, splitting, coiling and knotting of these filaments, which form a fractal entanglement of matter and void, where self-similar structures are embedded in hierarchically descending, or ascending scales.

While the turbulent energies, injected from a higher scale to a lower one, set the ground for the  formation of structures as a cascade, the magnetic fields, threaded through the turbulent clouds, play much of the work in shaping the cosmic bodies. The magnetic fields, twisting with the filaments and knots, pull gases towards the core, which grows through the process of magnetic accretion. The magnetic forces also cause ejections of gas clouds, as bubbles and jets, which move outward from the core.  While turbulence and magnetic field control the evolution of the structures, the gravitational force plays a  minor role. It is similar to the turbulence in the tap water, where the molecular forces play no role.

The vortices provide an efficient mechanism for collecting dusts at the core, where the gravitating matter may coalesce and form solid bodies. The gravitational attractions of these bodies become important after the cosmic dynamics, driven by turbulence and magnetic field, have given birth to an environment where the turbulence  have subsided outside the new born structure, and the gravitating mass has become large enough to compete with the magnetic forces. The planetary system around the sun is an example, where the chaos no more reigns outside the atmosphere of the sun and the planets, and the force of gravity is left to pull the planets in their orbits.

Though gravity appears to be the main dynamical actor in the planetary system, where we find ourselves, it does not justify us to assume that the whole universe is created, and driven by this gravitational force alone. The entire solar system could be only a special case existing in a very tiny scale. Its size is many trillions of times smaller than the largest cosmic structures we can observe today. The new theory departs from the big-bang based theories mainly on the assumption about the role of gravity in creating the cosmos. Instead it proposes turbulence and magnetic field as the main dynamical players in the large cosmic arena.

The site presents the book, which describes the basic ideas of the new theory, and gives links to a set of articles where the author has dealt with different issues related to the question of structure formation,  and the dynamics which may be driving the high-energy phenomena, like x-ray emissions, in the cosmos. It throws new light on the questions about what may exist at the galactic centres, and what may be the source of the Cosmic Background Radiation, and their fluctuations as observed by COBE and WMAP satellites. The recessions of the galaxies are  also given  new interpretation. The question of the dark matter appears irrelevant in the vortex model. According to this model the observed velocities in galaxies, or clusters of galaxies are natural consequences of the vortex dynamics.

Timelessness in Time: A new perspective on the structure formation

The book "Timelessness in Time" is mainly a collection of images, and advanced analysis of data taken by the satellites at different wavelengths by many research groups. It shows, among others, the systematic connections which exist in the formation and decay of the structures at different cosmic scales. It provides the material which shows how the universe may resemble more a vortex phenomenon than anything else, and deals with a universe which, instead of being homogeneous and isotropic, bears a multi-fractal  nature. In this inhomogeneous universe the larger structures are assembled by arranging similar structures existing in smaller scales. In the new universe, the time and the space do not form any differentiable continuous manifold, which is the geometrical  basis of the General Theory of Relativity. Instead, it is a fractal arena, where the structures are assembled by fractal packing of knots and filaments. Moreover, the new universe indicates a common frontier of astronomy and astrophysics with the biological science.

The content  of the book is meant for wider group of readers, who are interested in the questions regarding the mystery of the creation, but may not possess educational background in cosmology, or theoretical physics. The  experts who are interested in more details about some specific problem of structure formation may not find the book suitable for their needs. These experts will find links to a series of articles in this website. However, as the website is in the process of development, only a few are added now. More and more papers will be available as the site develops in the future.

The new theory dramatically turns away from the conventional way of understanding the cosmic creation based on the idea of the big-bang. As the conventional theories have so far failed to answer the questions regarding the structure formation, it is hoped that this site will be able to attract attention of the researchers, who are willing to look at new ideas.
